Turning Scientific Discovery into Compelling Narrative
The challenge
Adaptive Biotechnologies is a science-driven company advancing complex, deeply human breakthroughs—but its digital ecosystem struggled to tell that story. The existing site architecture was rigid and content-heavy, optimized for static information rather than evolving narratives. As a result, Adaptive’s thought leadership, education efforts, and scientific storytelling were constrained by a system better suited to academic publishing than modern content engagement.

The insight
Breakthrough science deserves more than white papers and PDFs. To build trust, authority, and understanding, Adaptive needed space to tell its story in multiple ways—editorial, visual, educational, and experimental—without being limited by legacy architecture. True thought leadership requires flexibility: the ability to adapt content formats, pacing, and storytelling techniques as science, audiences, and channels evolve.
The solution
Rather than forcing innovation into an inflexible system, we recommended creating a dedicated offshoot experience—an extensible storytelling platform designed specifically for thought leadership and education. This approach allowed Adaptive to explore richer narrative formats, modular layouts, and progressive disclosure of complex ideas without disrupting the core corporate site. By decoupling storytelling from legacy constraints, Adaptive gained a future-ready space to humanize its science, experiment with new content models, and establish clear ownership over education and narrative—bringing discovery to life in ways their existing site simply couldn’t support.
