Crypto-gram: Deciphering the blockchain
The Challenge:
When we set out to concept this campaign for Bittrex, we knew we couldn’t rely on traditional crypto marketing playbooks. The category is saturated with sameness—charts, coins, neon tech grids, and fear-based urgency. None of it reflects what actually drives people into the space: curiosity, problem-solving, and the desire to understand something new.
So instead of pushing information at people, we decided to pull them into an experience.
The Insight:
Crypto doesn’t have to be intimidating. It can be something you learn by playing with it.
The Solution:
We created a brand-owned cryptogram system—a visual alphabet built from the same shapes and accent language we developed for the Bittrex redesign. These symbols became both the puzzle and the message, a way to draw people into a moment of interaction rather than passive viewing. In a transit environment full of noise, this campaign invites a different behavior: pause, decode, participate.
This wasn’t just gamification for novelty’s sake. It was rooted in a real behavioral insight:
Most people are crypto-curious, not crypto-confident. They are interested, but they don’t know where to begin, and don’t want to feel like “noobs”.
By giving them a puzzle to solve, we gave them an approachable entry point—a low-stakes way to engage with the brand without needing prior knowledge, meeting them where they already were–IRL, during moments of transit or contemplation:
What makes this work especially powerful is how cleanly it integrates with the rest of the brand system. The redesigned Bittrex identity—built on bold color, modular geometry, and human-centric storytelling—becomes the foundation of a campaign that’s equally expressive and strategic. The puzzle language is ownable. The tone is confident but playful. And the interaction model reflects the brand’s promise: helping people trade beyond the trend by empowering them with understanding.
In a landscape where every crypto brand is shouting, this campaign whispers: “It’s your move.”
And in doing so, it gives people a reason to step closer.
